The DCC has announced that the two millionth second generation smart meter was installed over the weekend by British Gas in Surrey.

The Data Communications Company (DCC) has announced that the one millionth SMETS2 meter was connected in Slough by SSE on Tuesday 21st May 2019. Up to 20 SMETS2 meters are now being installed every minute of the day.

In a Change of Supplier (CoS) event, a Supplier becomes responsible for the maintenance of an asset and to ensure the latest version of firmware is in use. Prior to the agreed SECMP0009, there was no easy way for Suppliers to determine if the firmware was the latest version nor any applicable contact details for the manufacturer where it is not.
